What is CBD?

CBD is not intoxicating nor psychoactive (in fact it is an antipsychotic).

CBD is a type of hemp-derived phytocannabinoid. Phytocannabinoids are found in many plants including broccoli, carrots, and echinacea. Our bodies have cannabinoid receptors (actually we have more cannabinoid receptors than Vitamin C receptors). Essentially CBD is a nutrient.

Why Chocolate and CBD?

Cacao and CBD work synergistically. Cacao is a vasodilator which increases circulation and enhances absorption and effectiveness of herbs and extracts like the ones found in our chocolate (for example reishi, maca, and of course CBD).

Is CBD Legal?

Sure! Our CBD comes from organic hemp, not marijuana, it is legal to buy and consume even in states where marijuana has not been legalized. Our CBD is classified as hemp CBD isolate to be used for nutritional purposes.

Will CBD get me high?

No. It is not physically possible to get high from our hemp CBD isolate. However, consumers of our CBD chocolate have reported that they feel peaceful and serene after eating it, and absolutely amazing after consistent consumption.

How much CBD can I take daily?

Our family doctor has recommended we each take at least 10mg daily for overall health maintenance. She also prescribed a minimum of 30mg daily for cognitive improvement. We have seen multiple sources online that say it is safe to consume 1500mg or more daily.

Are there any allergies related to CBD?

Our CBD comes from organically grown hemp and is free from traces of many common allergens like gluten, soy, and dairy. While allergic reactions to hemp and/or CBD are extremely rare, an allergy to any substance is always possible. If you’ve had an allergic reaction to hemp products in the past, such as hemp seeds, hemp oil, or hemp protein, it would be advisable to avoid hemp CBD as well.
